According to the developers, Electric Drive Train Simulator was created as a tool to help with the development of the engine itself, which is pretty understandable. That said, I ended up installing it on my desktop computer, using a very old version, since I don't have anything newer. The settings that were provided for the development purposes are a little out of date, so I had to update them. In the end, I was able to get it to run on a pretty standard system, at least for now. I'm not entirely sure why it wouldn't have worked on a more recent system. I also have an Oculus Rift with Project Morpheus support, which was not installed during the installation process. I'm not sure if it could have had an impact, but I doubt it. I'd still like to know why it didn't work, if anyone has a better idea of what might have caused it.
